Zombies vs Puppies

Did I watch the Super Bowl?

Nope.

I could care less.

But I do have a confession to make.

I am completely hooked on The Walking Dead

I came late to the party though.  When we were visiting our friends Jerry and Sandy in Ohio over Thanksgiving weekend, they had it on.  SM and I had never seen it but Jerry gave us the outline and I've watched it ever since.

But only Season 3 episodes.

So I was thrilled to see that AMC was having a Walking Dead Season One Marathon yesterday.

All I can say is WOW.  Season Three sucks compared to Season One.

So why the fascination?

I'm not into scary movies AT ALL.  But this show is fun to watch.  Yes, it takes a moment to get past the gore.  But the way I look at it, some Special Effects guys spent a lot of time working hard making those intestines look real.

The least I can do is applaud.

No.  What's got me hooked is the story line that there's just a handful of human beings alive in the whole world and they still manage to treat each other like shit.

The dead are easy to deal with.

It's the ones that are alive that cause all the problems.

SM sat down and started watching too.  At one point, he said "Wow.  This is really getting good."  So now he's hooked too.

Ultimately SM went in the other room to watch the Super Bowl but I could hear him flipping back to TWD during commercial breaks and the big black out.

I'm not interested in watching the Super Bowl for the commercials.  So whenever TWD went to break I flipped over to The Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet.

Yeah Puppies!

What can I say?

I'm a complicated woman.

  1. Puppies AND zombies, hugh?

Weird, I tell ya. Just weird :)

We watched The Three Stooges during Superbowl time. Although we really couldn't have watched it if we had wanted to, but still. I probably would have watched Puppy Bowl, if just for the Kitty Half-Time show!

(Now I'm going to have to look up the walking dead online to see what I've been missing)

  2. Ah puppies...that would be my choice Tami. The Superbowl was broadcast whilst we slept. Eldest son and all his university friends had a Superbowl party in Belfast, haven't heard how it went yet. They are probably fast asleep. Youngest son of 17 wasn't allowed to stay up as he had school today so he recorded it and I accidentally deleted it today .....oops :(

I don't like zombies but the plot sounds good. As you say only a few humans left and they still can't get along together.

    Take care Tami

  3. Never heard of the walking dead, but of course we don't have TV. We did watch the puppy bowl though, invited to my son's for the game.
