ctrl +

OK.

Call me an idgit when it comes to using the computer, but I just discovered THE most important key combination for anyone over fifty.

Even more important than ctrl alt delete.

ctrl +

Yes.  ctrl +

I've been using Firefox to blog on my laptop the past few days (since Internet Explorer has been so twitchy) and noticed that the type font was SO teeny tiny.

I mean itty bitty.

Really small.

And being a slightly older lady...ahem...I sometimes find that really small type can be a really big headache to deal with.  Sure I could put on my reading glasses but I prefer to enlarge the font when viewing tiny print.

So looked around but I couldn't find the "zoom" function on Firefox like I could when I was on Internet Explorer.
Curious, I googled what to do about it and found out that I can make things much bigger just by hitting the key combination ctrl +

Yeah me!
How easy was that?
Too easy.
I made things too big.

So then I tried ctrl -
Hey, look at that!
Things get smaller!
It's Freaken Magic!
And it works no matter where you're at or what you're doing on your computer!

Oh, the power I have at my finger tips is inspiring!  I immediately consider how much easier my life would be if I could do that throughout my day.  Just imagine what I could do!

I could ctrl + my jeans after having too much to eat.

Better yet, I could ctrl - my butt and ctrl - my jeans all at the same time!

I could ctrl - the weeds and bugs out in my garden and then I could ctrl + my tomatoes, my strawberries and apples.  My flowers too!

The possibilities are endless!

I could ctrl the world!  Whaaa Haa Ha!

Then again, I don't want to ctrl the world.  I've got enough to do.  I'd just like to ctrl my little patch of heaven.

But lets keep this between you and me for now OK?

If SM gets in on the action there's no telling what would be ctrl + around here.

@;)

  3. Whoa, that is AWESOME! Now I can start my new year by not having to squint at my computer screen at the end of the day when my eyes are tired. Thanks for the info!!

  4. Cute post! (Clever of you to figure it out, too.) Now is there a key for blurred words without da darn glasses??

  5. You can also press the control key and use the scroll button on your mouse. The font will go bigger and smaller depending on which way you scroll. We can all use bigger font sometimes.

I really like the jeans idea :)

  6. Love this post, too cute! I just discovered it not too long ago as well on my computer at work (which is Windows). Came home and tried it on my Apple and it didn't work. Then I found that on Apple, it is not ctrl but the 'command' key and the + or - key. Command the world!!! :-)
