A Slow Sunday

A quiet week here this past week with rain every single day.  Which is not unappreciated I must say.

There's nothing more thrilling than standing with the hose watering an area of dirt because you sowed the seeds and now you can't tell where they are so you have to water everything.

Thank you Mother Nature!

SM had an all day job out of town and I had post-ops Saturday morning.

I then headed back towards home with a list of errands which included groceries and a pharmacy stop.  By time I got home the grass was dry enough (ha) to mow so I went ahead and attacked the yard since we're forecasted to get another 1-1/2 inches of rain today.

Everything is all green and moist outside this morning as I type this.
SM is still sacked out, exhausted from his busy Saturday.
The birds are singing.
The washer and dryer are humming with some laundry.

All is right with the world.

  1. We have a rain coming down this morning . . . for which we are sooo thankful since our forest fire danger has been HIGH for several weeks now. Your pictures are gorgeous and just the tonic I needed this morning since we still have no color. But with this rain the grass should be popping up green which will be nice.

  2. Rain is such a blessing. Nothing like the rhythm of your life to help you appreciate the simple things. ;0)

    1. Funny you shound say that, Daisy. I spent an enjoyable few minutes lulling myself to sleep identifying natural sounds as opposed to man made sounds.

      They were about even.

  3. I've been enjoying your blog for a couple of months now. Today's post got me going to comment -- I'm so very envious of your rainfall. Here, smack-dab in the middle of drought-stricken California, I'm almost pressing my nose against the computer screen as I ogle the pix of all your lovely greenness. I'm happy for you!

    1. I was wondering why my blog fogged up there for a few minutes. :)

Ugh! It's got to be so frustrating for you all out there. We had a few droughts here in the 15 yrs we've been here but always recovered a year later. The impact of CA's drought will be felt nationwide I'm afraid.

  5. Yes, rain is a blessing. Lettuce is looking god, along with the cabbages. I put row cover over the cabbages to ward off an insect attack.
