System Overload

And so it begins.

The busy season.

For some reason December through March tends to be our busy season.  The pace picks up.  The work day tends to be longer.

It was a 12 hour day yesterday with 10 of those hours on my feet.  Moving.  Pushing through.

This morning, I found myself hobbling around the house for the first few minutes.  Slowly my spine straightens, my feet flatten and my knees start to function.

I've found that when my body is screaming with discomfort the best thing for it is exercise.  So I hauled my butt around the hood for 3 miles, working out the aches and the kinks.

I feel much better now.

Too bad I can't unload my brain the same way.

My head is buzzing.

System Overload.

I feel like I'm spinning in a circle.

Too much information boiling in my head.

I need to decompress.

Thank goodness for the mundane simple tasks that need doing around the house each weekend.

There is a comfort in running the vacumn cleaner back and forth across the carpeting.  In stuffing the washer with dirty clothes and folding the warm ones in piles.

I've told SM to let me know what he wants to eat today.  I can't come up with a meal plan, but I can put things together and cook them.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll have something brilliant to say.

Until then, stay warm Ya'll!

  1. Oh, yeah. I'm with you all the way and I don't even have an outside job to contend with. (Sorry, . . . with which to contend. Ha! It's remarkable my brain even caught that this morning.) This morning (again and still) I'm fighting a crampy pain in my right side (probably snow shoveling induced) which acts up when I sit and work at the computer. If I were smart, I would "push any key to quit." Or get up and go for a walk like you.

Sure do appreciate the humor in your posts. Yes, you do spread good feelings and humor via nearly every post. We need folks with your upbeat, down-to-earth, common sense attitude. Thanks for sharing.

  2. I keep saying that I'm going to sign up for a yoga class to stretch out the creaks but I haven't done it yet. Those first five minutes in the morning sure keep reminding me.

My guy requested beef stew on Sunday. The house smelled great while it was cooking. I use the beef stroganoff recipe from 'For the Love of Cooking' blog as a base to cook the meat, though I cooked the meat about three hours not four this time. I think I cut my chunks smaller than hers so it was fine. I made a double batch of the meat part and stashed half in the freezer for a quick start to another beef stew or stroganoff meal. I've done this before and it works great!
